Comment: Bought this for my Tiki Lounge Outside...read the reviews here and at target.com...So I sprayed the entire thing whith High Quality Clear Varnish, rated for outdoor use...(from Home Depot, two cans, 4 bucks a peice)...Mine hasnt chipped or had chunks of paint come off...and we have had some blazing fires in it...
This is a FIRE Pit for us so I'm not rating it as a cute peice of furniture out on our deck...It is pretty heavy duty, and with a quick hose down, does convert to a table as well...as with anything that is outside and has fire in it, the paint and finish may fade...
It matches our cast Iron Bamboo Chairs and Tables perfectly so I love it for it's looks...as a fire pit it isnt the cheapest by far but none of the firepits I shopped looked near as cool as this thing.......very Unique and not that boring chimnea thing from mexico that everyone else has...
We love it at my house!.........just my humble opinion Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap Quality Stain Comment: The stain on this product is of cheap quality, and likely to crack and mildew. If you do purchase this, you would be wise to water seal it yourself. The company claims it is water treated for one year, but I found it will mildew and peel in a few short months.
