Comment: These things came to me in great condition. The only thing that I think is wrong with the claws is that they don't come very sharp, but I took a chizzle and scraped the tips for about 1 minute on each point and they were very sharp and very effective on climbing trees! Mainly what you need is a good pair of dirt biking gloves or some just regular winter gloves for the metal ring not to hurt your hands while climbing. That's what I use and it works great. I acknowledge you not to listen to the other reviews and make your own opinion. These things are a great pice of work and all it takes is a little bit of muscle!

Comment: I bought these hand spikes in hopes of using them to climb trees but sadly they do not work at all. As you try to use them the back gouges into your hands and really hurts. I tried wearing gloves but that didn't work either.

Comment: the shuko are worthless. they claim to be sharp and they are far from that. the straps that come with them are to short can't adjust them. if you want to climb anything you will have to do some filing on them to get a point. don't waste your money on these. the plastic ones are sharper.

Comment: I'm not very happy with these. First off, they are, for obvious reasons, one solid piece of metal so they are not adjustable and the strap that is comes loose quickly. Secondly, being one piece of metal, this device WILL cut into the back of your hand. And finally, the most simple thing to fix, these are not sharp enough to actually secure yourself to a tree. I have the foot spikes with these and ill just burst your bubble now that these things aren't going to work unless you make major modifications to this stuff.
