The Yaktrax Pro is new and been designed for the active winter person that needs increased durability while working, running or hiking. The Pro is made of a 100% natural rubber blend designed to give you increased durability and strength. The Pro comes with a removable performance strap to help keep you Yaktrax in place during use. The coils are stainless steel and are hand-wound to give you 360 degrees of traction on ice and snow. SMALL: Men's 5 to 8.5, Women's 6 to 10. MEDIUM: Men's 9 to 11, Women's 10.5 to 12.5. LARGE: Men's 11.5 to 13.5, Women's 13 to 15. X-LARGE: Men's 14+, Women's 15.5+. If the Yaktrax will be worn over heavy boots, add 1-2 sizes to your normal shoe size.

Summary: Great balance of design, comfort and quality.
Comment: I live in the New England area (United States) and winter weather here creates every kind of treacherous footing you can imagine. I bought the Yaktrax Pro and keep them in my truck ... I slip them one when I'm carrying my daughter across an icy parking lot into daycare, clearing the driveway or any other time mother natures decides to make her presence known.
I've found these are easy enough to get on ... but are still tough enough that they fit your shoe quite snug (I bought the large for a size 10.5 US men's shoe). I've never had them slip off or even felt them shift on me.
The traction they provide is considerably better than what you'd get in icy conditions with bare shoe, however I will not go so far as to say they dont slip at all. You shouldn't expect to have absolutely solid footing like you were standing on dry pavement. You'd have to go to a much heavier set of cleats with actual spikes to achieve that. I would venture to say that you will not find any sort of heavier spiked cleat like that which is as east to put on and as portable as what you get with the Yaktrax.
I have already recommended these to friends who have ordered them and have been very pleased as well.

Comment: Another reviewer mentioned that they come off easily so I ordered a size that just made it around my boots. They don't come off and have given me confidence going out on icy roads. YakTrax have made my dog very happy too.

Summary: Yaktrax's are the best
Comment: Yaktrax's are unbeatable. They give the greatest traction in all icy conditions. I run a high mountain camp and have tried many ice traction devises. In icy conditions, CAUTION, is always the most important factor, no matter what the devise. In walking indoors all devises can be hazardous, it depends on the care you use while walking. My staff and I have used Yaktrax's for years. For inside staff, regular Yaktrax's are the best. They put them on to walk from their cabin or car to the office and pop them off once inside. For my outside staff, the Yaktrax Pro's can't be beat. They are rugged and don't ware out. The strap over the front of the boot keeps them in place in most situations. When coming inside it is best and easiest to slip the boots off and to step into indoor shoes. For long Life - take a little time - when putting "Trax's" on, make sure they slip into the grooves in the soles of the boots and if the end of a spring starts to catch, use a pair of pliers to squeeze it back into place. The Yaktrax Pro's I have on now have lasted me for three years and counting.

Comment: These are a great improvement on my previous pair of Yaktrax. They have a strap over the toe to keep them on your boot. I love these. If you have to walk on ice, you need these. Who wants to fall and make a fool of oneself?! Not me! At my age, I could just as easily bust a hip as bust a move.
