Summary: One problem
Comment: It's a great little kit except for one thing. The original mounting plate for the gear has three *threaded* holes, the plate included in this kit does not have the threads though. So, I had to reuse the original plate. Had I known I would have to do so, I would have ordered the cheaper kit that only has the gears instead.

Summary: Saved me a bundle!
Comment: The product came with everything I needed and great instructions. Heads up for a seperate set of instructions for the bearing kit for the worm grear. I did not see it until I was done so I hope all is well. Installation took about twice as long as expected due to the difficulty disassembling and reassembling the worm gear kit. Not the products fault, just years of dirt and grime, do yourself a favor and clean everything thoroughly! In fact if the worm gear is not worn you may want to skip it. Other than those couple issues plus a few litle differences in the wiring(my opener is pushing 15 years) I saved a few hundred bucks and my wife is happy with me!!

Summary: Shipped with everything - punchkit may be needed
Comment: Everything was here but I ran into a situation getting the endcap type item off. Sounds like a punchkit may be needed. I'll be having to take the motor part into a shop to get them to wrap this one up but everyhing was here needed. Oh, I also needed to drill the screw holes for the large gear as the existing screws were a different size.

Summary: Took me a little while
Comment: Although I bought these parts locally, I thought I would share my opinion. All the part needed were included plus others for a different kind of opener. Some of the things that needed to be removed were mentioned in the directions, but were not clearly shown on the diagrams. There is a small clip that keeps you from removing the motor and shaft from the case. This clip is white along with the sprocket it is attached to. Very hard to see, but finally figured it out. Whoever assembled my opener, really torqued down the small screws that hold the shaft together. It created small divets, that flared out the metal on the shaft. I had to file and sand the shaft to get all the parts off. Those were the only problems I encountered. The rest of the assembly went like it was supposed to. It took me about 3 hours to replace the parts, but I'm sure it saved me a lot of money. It would definitely take me less time to do it again. Hopefully, I didn't forget anything and it lasts a while. Metal sprockets would last longer, but either the design wont allow it, or its cheaper to use plastic. I am not a craftsman, but am willing to try most things that I think I can tackle.

Summary: Excellent Product!!
Comment: I cheated and only replaced the chewed-up driven gear assembly. That's all it took to make the unit 100% perfect again and took only 40 minutes! I highly recommend this product and if your worm (drive) gear is okay, just replace the driven gear and grease the heck out of it. No need to disassemble the entire unit! This was super easy and kinda fun!
